Pleasure
P_UM-2019

I see Pleasure as a successful prototype & am interested in revisiting it in the future.

The image is an individual who identifies as queer + non-binary. The goal of this project was to explore the different ways to anonymously represent sex. Using bio-mapping Arduino technology I recorded the heart rates of individuals & couples during sex + masturbation (all of whom were consenting volunteers over the age of 18 & were in the privacy of their own homes). The results were digital “paintings” made by inputting the heart rate data into the program Processing & writing a short code to create the painting.

All consensual sex is beautiful & I wanted to show the beauty of the experience independent of any stereotypes, heteronormative bs, misogyny or prejudice.

LiquidGoldConcept LLC.
LGC-2019

LiquidGoldConcept is an Ypsilanti based startup focused on breast health & lactation education.

I worked with LiquidGoldConcept to develop & manufacture products used in hospitals, clinics, nursing schools, & community organizations. Our products familiarize medical professionals & new mothers with the look & feel of common problems women experience during breastfeeding; including mastitis, plugged ducts, & engorgement. Their Lactation Simulation Model (LSM) is also used to teach hand expression & how to pump.

Through building LSMs I learned live casting, silicone mold making, & sculpting techniques that enabled me to assist in the development of LiquidGoldConcept’s Breast Health Training Tool (top right image).

Speculative Re-Design of USPS
UPSP_TD-SS-2021

This SuperStudio (SS) project explored the ways in which the closed loop supply chain of the US Postal Service (USPS) could be leveraged to to create and promote a circular economy.

Collapsible Catch-All
CCA_DIS-CPH-2018

The Collapsible Catch-All was designed & fabricated during my semester abroad at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad (DIS) in Copenhagen, Denmark. Inspired by my transient upbringing & the limitations of air travel the "catch-all" challenges the form of a traditional dresser by prioritizing transportability.

It is constructed out of bamboo plywood & recycled racing sails sourced from a local sailing school.
