Ella Rocker is a Transdisciplinary Design MFA Candidate at Parsons School of Design, at the New School. She received her BFA in Art & Design with a focus in Furniture Design from the Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan. Since graduating in 2019 she has worked in the worlds of fine art & architecture.

She believes art is a mechanism for imagination, cognition, and a way to affirm one’s identity. She has fostered a Design practice centered on curiosity, and the idea that good design requires dialogue & at its best provides the means to rethink society’s most glaring problems — which stem from exclusionary, broken systems, that recycle inequality.

She enjoys pursuing opportunities that keep her questioning & engender a state of nebulous discomfort, because she believes that is the genesis of growth.
